‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Blu-Ray to feature animated clip of the ‘Dance of Dragons’

If you are brushed up on your Game of Thrones lore, one of the biggest stories coming out of it is the epic two-year-long battle of Daenerys’ ancestors in House Targaryen just about rip themselves apart in civil war. Also known as “Dance of Dragons,” this story will be getting a special bonus in the upcoming Blu-Ray version of Season 5 of the HBO hit. Unlike other special features released before, the exploration of the Dance of Dragons gets a 20-minute animated special that will feature the voices of former and current Game of Thrones actors including Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell), Kerry Ingram (Shireen Baratheon), Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen), Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark), and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon).

This should tide you over until the next season starts or until you want to revisit (or actually read) the books. But there’s also quite a wait for this as it comes out in Blu-Ray and DVD on March 15.

Episodes of the latest 'Game of Thrones' season get leaked online

HBO/Televison 360/Grok Studio

With Game of Thrones being one of the hottest shows out there, it's no surprise that leaks of the first four episodes are online ahead of the simultaneous airing of the show. According to TorrentFreak, "The leaked episodes, which appear to come from review copies sent to the press, have been downloaded more than 100,000 times in just three hours."

Because the show has this much of a following, HBO decided to air the first episode at 0100 GMT on Monday in 170 countries at the same time, regardless of the time zone. We're pretty sure more people will be looking for these next episodes after watching the first one for season five.

HBO gunning for cord-cutters with online service, but not yet for Canada

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Viewers have spoken and HBO has listened. The popular cable network announced yesterday that it will create a cable-free online service for customers in the USA. This means consumers no longer need to subscirbe to expensive cable packages that bundle a bunch of channels they aren't interested in just so they can watch Game of Thrones or True Detective.

"That is a large and growing opportunity that should no longer be left untapped," HBO's CEO Richard Plepler said. "It is time to remove all barriers to those who want HBO."
