‘No Man’s Sky’ will finally add online multiplayer support

Since the game’s launch back in 2016, full multiplayer support has been a feature Hello Games has been talking about bringing to its game No Man’s Sky. Now, it seems this is finally making its debut in the biggest update to the game yet. The No Man’s Sky NEXT update will bring full multiplayer support as well as support for the Xbox One.

According to Hello Games’s co-founder Sean Murray, “You’ll be able to explore the universe with your friends, or bump into random travellers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Your group can build anything from tiny shelters to complex colonies spanning planets, and everything is shared online for others to visit. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks or maybe just scenic trails to share online.” The update will arrive on July 24th and will be a free update for current players of the game.

‘No Man’s Sky’ Foundation Update is now up for download

We recently talked about the upcoming Foundation Update for No Man’s Sky. Well, now said update is already available for download and brings base-building capabilities with it. It now lets you develop a desolate outpost into your own base that you can upgrade with housing, storage buildings, and research facilities. If your base-building skills are up to par, you can attract alien settlers who bring their set of skills to your base. Aside from that, the game also now has a Survival Mode, which shifts the quiet pace of the game into something more challenging. In Survival Mode, you have fewer resources to work with and stronger adversaries to deal with. This isn’t the last update you can expect for the game as Hello Game says this is the “first of many free updates.”

Upcoming ‘No Man’s Sky’ update promises to bring base building

The release of No Man’s Sky has drawn a lot of flak from players that felt like the game didn’t deliver what it promised. The great thing with games these days is updates arrive to help fix any issues or improve on said game. On that note, Hello Games announced an upcoming update that will bring things such as base building. It’ll be part of what Hello Games is calling “The Foundation Update.”

This update has been in the works for nine weeks but Hello Games warns players that they shouldn’t expect an entirely different in-game experience right away. The game developer calls it “the start of something” instead of a fully-formed update that changes the way you play. Hello Games also addressed the criticism they’ve been getting and says they’re focusing on improving the game instead of getting into debates.

Hello Games promises to expand the ‘No Man’s Sky’ universe further

No Man’s Sky has gotten a lot of flak since its release on August 9th. But with all the criticism, the game’s developer Hello Games is constantly churning out patches (four since the game’s release) to smoothen out the experience for the players. Now, Hello Games is also setting its sights forward to a better game. According to a post by the development team, they are focusing now on resolving issues the players have with the game and then they intend to release free updates in the future that will “improve, expand, and build on the No Man’s Sky universe.” Hello Games Managing Director Sean Murray previously said that features like being able to build bases and own giant space freighters will be coming soon. We should expect these new features once the bugs are all patched.
