Panasonic adds to its rugged handheld tablet product line with new Toughpads

Panasonic has released two new Toughpad rugged tablets at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Toughpad FZ-F1 run Windows 10 while the Toughpad FZ-N1 runs Android Lollipop. Designed around enterprise as well as to be used in the field. Both feature a drop rating of 6’ and have also passed a torturous tumble test that saw the devices endure 2,000 consecutive 3.3’ drops – so they can stand up to the abuse of the most demanding enterprise and government usage environments.

Panasonic outs new Lumix cameras

Panasonic Canada brings in two of its newest cameras into the market—the DMC-GX8 and DMC-FZ300. Both cameras come equipped with the new Venus Engine designed to improve colour reproduction, luminosity, and saturation.

The GX8 is the new flagship Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera for the G-Series line. It sports a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, dual image stabilization, and 4K photo and video recording. ISO sensitivity goes up to 25600.

Panasonic's AVCCAM HD camcorder features recording modes for sports snalysis and cloud applications

Panasonic has announced a new professional AVCCAM HD handheld camcorder, the AG-AC90A, with significant improvements over its predecessor, the AG-AC90. Advances include two new recording options -- a PM mode (1280x720, 8Mbps) supporting sports analysis applications and a CS mode (720x480, 3.5Mbps) for cloud service utilization.

Other enhancements comprise the ability to copy content from one SD card to another, a date and time superimpose function ideal for law enforcement and legal depositions, Freeze Frame (still picture) on video out during shooting position change, Eye-Fi card support, a Variable White Balance function, additional marker displays, and a Digital Range Stretch (DRS) On/Off user button. Panasonic Canada marries landline and mobile phone capabilities with DECT series

Panasonic Canada is bringing new home cordless phones that allow your landline and mobile phone to work together. The DECT series has models (KXPRW120 and KXPRW130) that come with Smartphone Connect functionality, a feature that turns your smartphone or tablet into an additional handset. You just need to install the Smartphone Connect app for Android and iOS and be within the range of your wireless router. These models also have Baby Monitor feature but will need an additional handset and Talking Caller ID to let you know who’s calling you. The KXPRW120 and KXPRW130 both retail for $169.99.
