‘No Man’s Sky’ issues refunds to unsatisfied players

It seems the complaints from fans have gotten too much that Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky can be refunded on several gaming platforms—no matter how long you’ve been playing the game. If you bought it on Amazon, Steam, or the PlayStation Network, the providers are issuing refunds for them. It’s particularly telling for platforms like Valve where you can only refund after playing the game for under two hours or for Sony how has strict refund policies. You can contact these providers if you feel like refunding the game. But there’s no telling until when they’ll allow these refunds to happen.

Full STEAM ahead for Season 2 of Netflix's Project Mc2 aimed at tween girls

When the creators of Project Mc2 started shaping up the series they had a goal in mind. To show girls around the world that science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) is everywhere in our everyday lives and that it all can be relatable and fun. They also wanted to show that it's a realm that doesn't have one stereotypical image but yes, you can be pretty, funny, sporty and still be smart because "smart is the new cool."

Season 1 launched in August 2015 exclusive to Netflix aimed at girls in the tween years. The spy mini-series followed four teens from various backgrounds and interests who form a spy agency NOV8 ("innovate") and use their super sleuthing abilities to help solve mysteries. With a chief intelligent agent (played by real life STEM advocate Danica McKellar of the Wonder Years) they set out on missions to save the day.

Atari to bring 100 classic games to PC age

It’s time to put away or on display your old Atari console. Atari plans to bring 100 “iconic, fan-favorite” games to the PC. Called the Atari Vault, it will include games like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Tempest, and Warlords. These games will feature updated user interfaces, new online and local multiplayer options, and Steam Controller support. But what won’t change is the classic ‘70s and ‘80s soundtracks to take you back to that age of gaming. Atari Vault will also let you challenge other players on Steam Leaderboards to give you the ultimate bragging rights of being the best arcade player (if you are, that is).

Atari will be previewing Atari Vault at PAX South 2016 in Texas from January 29 to 31. Code Mystics is said to be developing the collection and will launch in Spring 2016.

Steam hits big security snafu in midst of winter sale

This isn’t something any company wants to happen to them, especially during such a busy season. Valve’s Steam gaming platform is experiencing a big security lapse as some users were able to access other people’s accounts. Some players reported they got to see things like email addresses, credit card information, and previous purchases. It’s more disturbing that this happened in the midst of the platform’s winter sale, which means more players are logged on and possibly seeing information you don’t want other people to see.

The glitch doesn’t seem to affect all users and it seems the Steam store is up and running already. But Valve hasn’t addressed the issue just yet so we can’t say what caused the issue.
