TomTom to offer navigation technology for Acer smartphones

TomTom and Acer have entered a multi-year agreement to bring navigation technology to Acer’s mobile devices. The companies introduced the NavKit-powered AcerNAV, a turn-by-turn navigation app that will let you navigate anywhere in the world without additional roaming charges. It features route planning and interactive 2D and 3D maps that you can download for free. The rollout for the app with start in Europe during the last quarter of this year.

TomTom extends product portfolio with the launch of online navigation

TomTom has extended its location-based services product portfolio with an online turn-by-turn navigation service for customers who want to offer a navigation application on an internet-connected device, without having to store a large offline map.

As well as integrating TomTom’s existing navigation software and service products, such as NavKit, NavKit Worker and NavCloud, customers and developers can now integrate TomTom’s online turn-by-turn navigation. This also includes TomTom’s latest maps, real-time traffic, best-in-class routing, a comprehensive search function and easy-to-use software development kits.

TomTom today launched the all new TomTom Golfer, a GPS sports watch designed to make it easy for golfers to improve their game.  Unique course graphics clearly show accurate distances to hazards and layups, and the best approach to the green. 

The TomTom Golfer uses graphics to clearly show key golf course data from more than 34,000 golf courses across the globe on its extra-large screen.  Course updates are delivered wirelessly via a unique smartphone app, so golfers can trust they are playing with the most up-to-date course information.

TomTom extends its industry leading map coverage with the addition of 4 new countries

TomTom has announced the addition of Algeria, Colombia, Israel and Yemen to its premier navigable map database, MultiNet, which now includes 118 countries, covering 42.8 million kilometres and 4.1 billion people worldwide.

MultiNet enables automotive, enterprise and government customers to develop cutting-edge applications, which feature turn-by-turn navigation, routing display, and geo-coding to create a better navigational experience for drivers.
