Waze now warns you if you go over the speed limit

Adding more functionality to an already useful app, Waze is letting its users know if you're driving over the speed limit. If you use the app to navigate it will use the same visuals as the photo above to let you know if you've exceeded the speed limit. You can automatically set audio warnings if you've hit the limit or you're over it by 5, 10, or 15 percent. As everything else, the speed limit of a particular area is being sourced from its community. The feature is currently available in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, El Salvador, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad, Tobago, and Uruguay but Waze promises it will be available in other areas soon.

Waze planned drives now available for iOS

Waze introduces Planned Drives for iOS, taking the stress out of planning an appointment or important trip, whether it’s today or in the week ahead. Now you’ll always know when to go! Enter the time and date you need to arrive and Waze will recommend the best time to leave. You’ll also receive a reminder closer to your event with an updated departure time based upon real-time road conditions. Just set it and forget it.

Planned Drives also makes it easier to manage your time and schedule more flexible to-do’s (like errands or road trips) to avoid traffic.

Waze now estimates how long you'll be in traffic

Waze now measures how long you're going to be stuck in traffic. The Traffic Bar feature first made available on Android now makes its way to iOS. It takes into account traffic jams and gives you an estimate of how long you'll be in the jam for. Remember that since it's an estimate, it isn't 100 percent accurate.

The latest update also allows you to port your old account onto a new device once you decided to upgrade. This means your points get moved as well.

Waze may come pre-installed on your next Android phone

The next generation of Android phones might come with the Waze. The navigation app is part of Google’s Mobile Services, which is a list of apps manufacturers and carriers can ship with their devices. If you remember, Google bought Waze two years ago and kept it separate from Google Maps. Of course, it seems like a plan to get more people to use Waze but that’ll still depend on the carrier and manufacturer if they intend to carry it.
