Hackers take personal data in Kickstarter breach

Hackers have recently infiltrated Kickstarter to take personal information from users.  Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler said in a blog post the breach did not give hackers access to credit card information. But it gave them access to usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, and encrypted passwords. The company urges all users to change their passwords for their accounts and for any other site that uses the same password. The company did not reveal the number of customers affected by the breach.

Microsoft Office for iPad reportedly arriving before Windows 8 touch version

Reports have surfaced that the Microsoft Office for iPad might finally be released. And the app might come even earlier than the Windows 8 touch-based version. ZDNet reports that Ballmer approved the suggestion of the Office team to release the Office for iPad as soon as the app was ready. Even if that meant it came out before the Windows 8 version. The target date of release is supposedly the first half of 2014. We’ll keep you posted on any updates.

Nokia aims to close Microsoft acquisition deal by end of Q1

Nokia wants to assure the public that the company plans to close Microsoft’s purchase of the Finnish brand by the end of March. A new press release from Nokia wanted to emphasize that an ongoing tax dispute in India over one factory in the country will not affect the deal. Nokia has petitioned the Indian Supreme Court to reverse a ruling that was expected to complicate the agreement. But the company is quick to say the deal is expected to push through during this first quarter of the year.
