Intel introduces SD card-sized 22nm dual core PC

Intel seems determined to shrink the size of its computer processors with the freshly announced Edison. The miniature computer is based on the Quark SoC technology created with 22nm transistor technology intended to cram computing power into an SD card form factor. The mini computer is meant to entice developers to build the next-generation of wearable or connected devices.

Edison is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and can even connect to its own app store. Intel CEO Brian Krzanich showed off practical applications of the computer with “Nursery 2.0” products such as a toy frog that informs parent’s about a baby’s vitals through an LED coffee cup.

Yahoo! launches news aggregator app for iOS

Yahoo! has made a pretty quick and dramatic shift to mobile under the stewardship of CEO Marissa Meyer who took the stage today at CES for her keynote. Among the announcements was they acquisition of the Aviate desktop launcher for Android as well as a renewed focus on entertainment and mobile apps.

News Digest for iOS is a news aggregator and summary app that learns what users read and shapes the delivery of content to follow these trends. Yahoo! seems focused on providing iOS-first solutions and apps. Their intro video during the CES keynote focused mostly on iPhones and iPads and many apps seem to arrive first on iOS.

"We wanted Yahoo News Digest to revisit a content format that when read, led you to a sense of completion and conclusiveness, much like reading the newspaper did," Yahoo's product manager for mobile and emerging products Nick D'Aloisio.
