Sony reportedly releasing Windows Phone device in 2014

There are a flurry of Android smartphones from the Japanese tech brand but it looks like Sony plans to build a Windows Phone-powered line in the coming year. Ubergizmo reports the IT company will release a Windows Phone device in the middle of 2014. Microsoft is supposedly contacting other OEMs and planning to reduce licensing fees to encourage them to produce Windows Phone gadgets.

Talking tech highlights of 2013 on Global TV's "The Morning Show" 

This morning I had the opportunity to go on Global's "The Morning Show" to candidly discuss some of the big tech stories of 2013, and give some predictions going into 2014. Among the topics discussed were Apple's new iPhone 5s and 5c, Google's Nexus 5, Tesla's Model S launching in Canada, all things wearable technology, and of course video sharing.

Author of Steve Jobs’ biography turns to the Web to edit new book

Walter Isaacson, author of the Steve Jobs biography, is taking to the internet to edit a new book about the beginnings and development of today’s digital age. Isaacson has posted parts of his new book on online publishing platforms such as LiveJournal, Medium, and Scribd to have interested parties browse through the passages and state any corrections or notes.

"One of the things I learned is the original intention of the internet was to allow collaboration on projects, and we got away from that, especially with the World Wide Web," he said in an interview with Capital. "I'm trying to find a good service that will allow people to collaborate or to crowdsource some ideas."

iPhone 5s changes into a fitness tracker with Fitbit iOS update

If you don’t have your Fitbit device on you, the new update to the iOS application will remedy that situation. Fitbit has introduced a MobileTrack to turn your iPhone 5s and the new iPads into a “basic” activity tracker. It makes use of Apple’s M7 chip to monitor your movement while not sacrificing too much of your battery’s life.
