Marissa Mayer to talk Yahoo!’s future at CES 2014

After former Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz was confirmed and then cancelled to speak at CES in 2009, there has not been a keynote speaker from the tech company since. That is until the Consumer Electronics Association announced that Marissa Mayer will deliver a keynote speech at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. She will speak on January 7 and discuss "vision for products, services, and networks that will shape the next wave of innovation."

BlackBerry Express Beta changes the game in mobile presentation creation

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Ever have the need to create a business presentation on the fly but couldn't get to your notebook? BlackBerry is launching Express  (beta) , a unique BlackBerry 10.2 app that enables users to create visually stunning and powerful presentations right on their BlackBerry devices. Set to appear in the BlackBerry World App Store later today, Express uses the power and simplicity of BB10's gesture based controls to create presentations that can then be played back using the included HDMI-out port on BB10 devices.

I've been testing the beta of Express on my Z30 and found it to be intuitive and simple yet capable of creating visually engaging presentations that look like they've been created by a desktop application. The idea is the software gets out of the way of the creative process allowing for quick and effective slideshow creation right on a mobile device.

Not just a great tool for businesses and entrepreneurs, I see the value of being able to create on-the-fly presentations for educators and students who want to get ideas across quickly.  Presently, there's nothing quite like this app on any mobile platform that we know of. Look out for BlackBerry Express Beta on your BB10 device later on today,
