iPad Air coming to Canada - Photo by Gadjo SevillaApple's latest tablet, the A7 processor-toting iPad Air ais expected to be available from Apple Retail Stores (opening at 8:00 am) as well as from Apple's Online Store. Designed from the ground-up for iOS 7 and featuring an all-new 64Bit desktop architecture, the new iPads are expected to earn Apple a lot of money for the holiday shopping season. iPad Air starts at $519 (16GB) Apple is continuing to sell the iPad 2 and last year's iPad mini as the entry level devices in both sizes at $399 and $319 respectively. The anticipated iPad mini with Retina display is expected to ship later in November but sources say initial supply is expected to be tight as production of the smaller (denser) Retina display is in short supply.

More information on Android 4.4 KitKat revealed in new video

Today's buzz belongs to the Google's Nexus 5 which made a brief appearance in the Google Play store before selling out in under 30 mins. The other part of the story is the next version of Android OS codenamed KitKat. The video above goes over what we can expect in great detail. KitKat is expected to start rolling out to exisiting Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Developer Editions.

[Update] LG Nexus 5 sold out via Google Play in both colour options

[update] Google is now completely sold out of all color and memory options of their just-launched Nexus 5. 

It's been less than 30-minutes since Google Canada flipped the switch on sales of their latest flagship, the Nexus 5, and they're already sold out of the lower cost 16GB option in both black and white. You can, howwever, still grab the 32GB in either colour while quantities last.

Google officially announces the Nexus 5

At long last, and after countless leaks, the fifth-generatiom of Google's 'Nexus' line of Pure Google devices is available for sale via Google Play. At a cost-effective $349 for the 16GB LTE and $399 for the 32GB, off-contract, the Nexus 5 is chock-full of new features including:

- 5-inch 1080p full HD display

- Android 4.4 KitKat

- 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front

- 2GB RAM

- Qualcomm SnapDragon 800, 2.26GHz chip

- 2300mAh battery for all-day usability

The Nexus 5 carrier edition - still unlocked - is expected to launch in mid-November with Rogers, Bell, TELUS, and WIND. Contract pricing and exact release dates are still unknown.
