Apple's mixed reality headset might debut this spring

Apple might be ready to launch its long-rumoured mixed reality headset soon. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that the headset will debut this spring ahead of the Worldwide Developers Conference in June and will start shipping in the fall.

The headset is expected to cost as much as US$3,000, offering both virtual and augmented reality experiences using Apple's new xrOS operating system. Apple has reportedly shown off this Reality Pro-branded device to a "small number of high-profile" developers, so there will be third-party apps for it. But there are still "many kinks to work out" on the device, Gurman claims. And this has slowed down the development of other Apple projects and products.

JBL's new TWS earbuds have a touchscreen case

Source: JBL

JBL introduces a new pair of true wireless earbuds with an LED touchscreen display on the charging case. (Yes, similar to what we've seen on the HP Poly Voyager Free 60 Plus!) The new Tour Pro 2 earbuds have what JBL claims is the "world's first smart charging case." The 1.45-inch LED touchscreen on the case offers music and call control and access to social media and message notifications. JBL says this will keep you from looking at your phone. Of course, that's thinking you have the case within reach.

Meanwhile, the earbuds themselves are built as flagship earbuds. The Tour Pro 2 has adaptive active noise cancellation with an ambient sound mode, 10mm drivers, spatial audio, and JBL's Pro sound. Personi-fi 2.0 lets you customize the audio profile to suit your listening habit. And there's an ear tip fit test to ensure proper fit. For calls, there are six microphones onboard with JBL's VoiceAware tech.

LG Signature OLED M3 is a 97-inch 'wireless' TV

Source: LG

LG's new 'world's first' 4K television is missing a few things. It gets rid of most of its wires. The 97-inch LG Signature OLED M3 is a high-quality, massive panel with speakers and a power cable. It gets audio and video wirelessly from LG's new Zero Connect box, which you can place in your home up to 30 feet away. The tech company claims the box offers "real-time video and audio transmission at up to 4K 120Hz." It comes with three HDMI 2.1 ports, so you can plug your next-generation game console, 4K Blu-ray player, and the like into it. LG hasn't elaborated on latency, so gaming may be hit or miss here. But it does have an NVIDIA G-Sync certification.

This premium TV might appeal to you if you want to live that minimal wires life. LG promises better video quality through its Zero Connect technology. It claims to use a new algorithm "to minimize transmission errors or disruptions," from people and pets moving in the room. It also supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and voice commands. Expect to spend an exorbitant amount on the LG Signature OLED M3. LG hasn't revealed pricing yet, but it'll be expensive.

The Poly Voyager Free 60 Plus gets features like adaptive active noise cancellation with a transparency mode, "WindSmart technology" for clearer calls outside, AptX support, and earbud-based gesture controls. These earbuds are also IP54 rating for splash and dust resistance.
