Today HTC and TELUS announced the Android 2.3-powered HTC Amaze 4G smartphone will be available in Canada on November 4. Equipped with a powerful dual core processor and download speeds of up to 42 megabits* per second via TELUS' HSPA+ dual cell network.

LG has confirmed that its Optimus 2X smartphone is expected to get the Ice Cream Sandwich updated which is Google Android version 4.
"LG is currently in the process of planning the ICS OS update for the LG Optimus 2X as well as other LG high-end smartphones," the company said in a note on its Facebook page. "Detailed information on the ICS OS update schedule for specific models will be announced, once the ICS OS is publicly released by Google. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG."
Owners of current Android devices are wondering whether they will be able to get official updates for theri devices but this depends on Google, the specific manufacturers as well as, in some cases, the carriers.
