Source: Apple

If you're a fan of Toronto native The Weeknd, you can enjoy his music while you work out soon. Apple Fitness+ is adding his music along with those from icons Mary J. Blige and The Rolling Stones this September 12. The series dedicates an entire workout playlist to a single artist. Every Monday for four weeks, new workouts featuring music by each of these artists will appear across different workout types, including Strength, HIIT, Dance, Cycling, Yoga, and Treadmill.

Inspired by these workouts, Apple Music and Apple One subscribers can enjoy the Fitness+ Spotlight series playlist outside the service.

Apple Fitness+ won't need an Apple Watch to work starting this fall

Source: Apple

The Apple Fitness+ service will no longer be Apple Watch-centric. The company reaffirmed its plans to allow iPhone users in the 21 countries where Fitness+ is available to access it even if they don't own Apple's smartwatch. The iPhone-only users will get access to over 3,000 workouts and meditations. You can also still use the service on the iPad and Apple TV.

Understandably, the Apple Watch will get more accurate stats than just your phone. The iPhone will estimate the calories you burn, adding to the progress on the Move ring.

Apple Watch Series 8 adds new body temperature sensor

While the Apple Watch Ultra caters to the active, outdoorsy folks, the Apple Watch Series 8 appeals to the regular crowd. It includes a new body temperature sensor embedded in the bottom and on the display. Apple doubled down on its usefulness for menstrual and ovulation tracking. It can monitor your body temperature changes throughout your cycle and look out for any potential health issues you might have related to your cycle. This new Apple Watch even offers retrospective ovulation estimates. As with any other sensitive personal data, Apple promises your health info is encrypted from end to end. Your data will only be shared if you decide to share it.

Apple adds on the Apple Watch's fall detection with a new crash detection feature. It uses the smartwatch's barometer, GPS, and mic on your iPhone to determine the severity of the crash. And when the Apple Watch Series 8 detects this, it'll check in with you. If you remain unresponsive after a 10-second countdown, it'll dial emergency services.
