Top Twitter Canada trends and conversations for the first half of 2022

Source: Twitter

With half of the year already over, Twitter has enough information on what has gotten its users' attention in the first half of the year. And we have a quick compilation of these top trends and conversations so far in 2022.

If we're talking about a viral tweet, Twitter Canada mentions the story of the Fredericton, NB retiree who wanted to go viral and then proceeded to go viral after his daughter tweeted a photo of him. He's gotten 328.3K likes since this writing (well above the five likes he wanted).

1Password can securely share files, documents with a link

Source: 1Password

1Password's update now lets you securely share files and documents you store in the app using a link. The method will be similar to its password-sharing feature. You can share it with anyone through the link, even if they don't have a 1Password account. You can set an expiry date and restrict access by requiring people to verify their email address with a one-time code to view the file.

The shared file will be displayed on 1Password's site, and recipients can copy fields, download files, or save items into their 1Password account. The sharing process is similar to how you'll invite someone to a Google Drive file, but the link won't last forever, and you can improve control over who can view the item. Recipients can now see shared items in their preferred language. And senders can share files with a company's email domain while requiring recipients to verify their email addresses.

Google starts pushing Gmail interface revamp to more users

Screenshots source: Gmail

Gmail's interface update has been rolling out for a while (at least since February). But Google is starting to push it out to more users, turning the experience into an opt-out instead of an opt-in. I've already spotted it in one of the Gmail accounts I have. This new look brings the Material You styling to Gmail while moving Chat, Spaces, and Meet into one area.

Since I don't use these varied messaging services on the Gmail account where the redesign has appeared, I no longer see the Chat box at the bottom of the Inbox and Labels panel. You can choose which apps will appear by heading into the Quick Settings menu.
