Nanoleaf enables Thread border routers for its Shapes, Elements smart light panels

Nanoleaf has just enabled Thread border routers in its Shapes and Elements smart light panels. This means it can better integrate with your smartphone accessories. By activating this feature on these light panels, you can use the Thread network to communicate with other Thread devices in your home using the Android operating system. These panels will now also support Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. 

Thread is an open networking protocol built by companies like Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm to allow their home accessories to communicate via peer-to-peer connectivity. Apple has since joined the alliance, with the HomePod mini being its first product to support the Thread protocol.

Nomad introduces a leather cover for the Apple MagSafe charger

If you were thinking your MagSafe Charger needed a cover, Nomad has the solution for you. The company just launched a Leather Cover for the Apple accessory designed to slide over the charger. It comes in rustic brown and black Horween leather, and like other Nomad leather products, it will develop a rich, unique patina over time. And the covers match Noma'ds Leather iPhone cases, too.

Each soft microfiber exterior is promised not to do any damage to the charger. According to Nomad, it will also make it easier to grip and remove from an iPhone. The Nomad Leather Cover for MagSafe costs USD 24.95 (around CAD 31).

You have dual dials that can toggle volume and 13-levels of noise cancellation. You can also touch the surface of each headphone to pause, or play audio, and there’s an easy mute button on the right headphone.

OnePlus teases Nord 2 5G launch

We have more OnePlus news for you. The company has confirmed that its next Nord device is coming soon. The upcoming Nord 2 5G will have "pretty much everything you could ask for," at least according to OnePlus' teaser. The company hasn't revealed yet when this device will launch, but we know it is "coming soon."

It will be its first device to run on a MediaTek processor, the new Dimensity 1200-AI. According to OnePlus, "We've worked with MediaTek to build an exclusive AI-enhanced experience that takes photography, display tech and gaming to a new dimension.
