Spotify tipped to offer its own paid podcast subscription option

If the rumours are true, it looks like Spotify will also launch its paid podcast subscription option. And according to the Wall Street Journal's sources, Spotify might unveil this service "next week," which would come at the tail of Apple's paid podcast subscription announcement. But unlike its rival, Spotify supposedly wouldn't charge a fee or take a cut of each membership. The podcasters will set their own prices.

Those who use Spotify's iOS app will reportedly get steered to a website to complete the transaction, which would deny Apple of its "App Store tax." Spotify hasn't confirmed these rumours, but according to the company's chief content and ad business officer Dawn Ostroff, there was "room for everybody" in the audio space.

The new 12.9-inch iPad Pro won't work with the older Magic Keyboard

If you thought your older Magic Keyboard would work with the new iPad Pro, we have some bad news. The 12.9-inch option will require the new Magic Keyboard to work. But the new Magic Keyboard will work with the third- and fourth-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It seems that because the new iPad Pro is slightly thicker, this might be causing the issue. The 11-inch model doesn't have the same problem as it has the same size and weight as its predecessor.

Despite the educational uncertainty in 2021, the majority of school boards in the Ottawa area will be maintaining the hybridized form of education we’ve seen so much of over the last year. This means that students will need to continue to rely on eLearning methodologies for the remainder of the school semester.

Of course, there can be a lack of quality in the online education space. In the public sphere, teachers are still struggling with portals and platforms, while in the private spere, some institutions are only just taking their first fledgling steps into the world virtual education, or failed to improve since 2020.

You can now tweet pictures in 4K on mobile

It feels like a long time coming, but Twitter finally allows its mobile users to tweet and view pictures in 4K. Its web app already supports higher-resolution images (up to 4,096 x 4,096), but Android and iOS users were limited to half of that resolution before this update.

To use this new feature, you will need to go to the "Data usage" section of the settings menu in the app. You will need to enable both "high-quality images" (for viewing) and "high-quality image uploads" (for tweeting). You can select whether you'd see or upload these images on cellular and Wi-Fi, just Wi-Fi, or disabled entirely.
