Square Enix will bring 'Final Fantasy XIV' to PS5

 

The PlayStation 5 is getting Final Fantasy XIV, with its open beta kicking off on April 13. The teaser trailer above shows the game running in 4K resolution. The developer says you can expect significantly improved frame rates and quicker load times. 

Those who registered in the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV can play this optimized version at no extra cost during the beta period.

Apple promotes 'The Snoopy Show' on its homepage

Apple wants to make sure you catch its new animated series, The Snoopy Showon Apple TV+ that it has redecorated its homepage to commemorate the show. Aside from being greeted on the site by linking to the series, the different Apple products and services offered on the home page get Snoppy characters and animation. 

The Snoopy Show comes from Peanuts and Canadian media company WildBrian. It's a collection of three seven-minute cartoons, following Snoopy as he transforms into some of his famous alter-egos. Of course, you can expect to see your favourite Peanuts characters in the show.

Google wants to improve the video calling performance of Meet and Zoom on Chromebooks

Schooling in the age of a pandemic requires a lot of video calls. That's why Google wants to improve its Meet app and Zoom to perform better on Chromebooks. The company wants devices to handle video conferences throughout the day while running other apps and software. 

It said they "improved how Meet videos are streamed" on Chrome OS" without causing any performance issues with other apps. The company also will allow users to use more advanced features like grid views while making sure "audio and video data don't require unnecessary processing."

Android TV's Discovery page makes browsing content much easier

Canada is one of a few countries getting the initial rollout of the new Android TV look, which brings better discovery features with its three new tabs. Android TV now has a Home, Discovery, and Apps section. 

The highlight is the Discover page that shows you relevant content from the streaming services you have and compiling them in one place. Plus, it showcases more personalized content suggestions from what you watch and what's trending on Google.

The update is rolling out this week here and in Australia, France, Germany, and the US. More countries are getting the update in the coming weeks.
