LG G6 renders show it might not carry on G5’s modular design

If this rendered leak from @OnLeaks and Gear India on Twitter is true, LG might be dropping the modular approach for the G5 in favor of what looks like a more conventional, iPhone-esque device. The renders show a flat 5.3-inch quad-HD display and the lack of a removable chin like in the G5. The bottom bezel of the G5 can be detached so users can swap LG’s accessories (what they call “Friends”) and have different experiences and functionality from the phone. Unfortunately, that doesn’t look like it’s being carried over to the next flagship. That’ll be a bummer for those who heavily invested in the accessories.

Moto Z get another Nougat update, but it’s not 7.1 build

If you’ve gotten an update on your Moto Z device and think it’s a push to Android 7.1, unfortunately that isn’t the case. It’s a big 540MB update (with build number NPL25.86-17-3) but the build still remains at 7.0. What’s only listed in the update prompt is it has fixed a low volume notification sound issue experienced by users in the past month. But we can’t say what else has been changed specifically to warrant that big of a file. We’re assuming there are a lot of other bug fixes and performance improvements added to it. If you got this update, have you noticed any changes to it? Don’t forget to leave a comment below.

VW showcasing new I.D. Electric concept car at NAIAS

Volkswagen will present a new I.D. family model – a multi-functional vehicle for a new era. The concept vehicle forges links between the legendary origins of the Volkswagen brand and its electrifying future. Like the I.D., this concept is also based on the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB), and so it shows the potential and bandwidth of the MEB.

Since the presentation of the I.D. at the Paris International Motor Show in September of this year, these initials have stood for a new generation of fully connected, all-electric vehicles from Volkswagen. The I.D. also stands for purity in design language, form, and character as well as typical Volkswagen attention to detail and ideal use of interior space.
