Google’s new self-driving cars to hit roads next month

What Google says are the “first real build” of its self-driving car will be hitting the streets in January. This new model gets rid of the clunky rooftop LIDAR system for a sleeker machine that looks like a cross between a Mac Pro and a police siren. It finally now gets real headlights, too. This self-driving car also finally gets headlights, too. But it retains that cute koala-like look to it.

Kodak to launch Android phones because they can

Kodak is bringing its first line of Android devices to the upcoming CES. They promise “best-in-class image management software and features along with great design and UI.” They will unveil a 4G phone, tablet, and connected camera. These devices will be made by Bullitt Group while the name and cache will come from Kodak. Bullitt has a similar arrangement with Caterpillar and their line of rugged Android devices. We’re not sure if this’ll be a success or not, but we do wish them luck.

The Apple Beat: Apple's Year in Review

2014 was a momentous one for Apple. The company ramped up its leadership with a number of of key personnel, made its biggest ever acquisition with Beats and showed they were ready to compete in the supersized-smartphone  and wearables space by releasing the iPhone 6 Plus as well as previewing the Apple Watch. 

It was definitely CEO Tim Cook’s landmark year as Apple leader, the Apple Watch was the first new product category he launched and the event and succeeding hype and interest over the Apple Watch and what it can offer was notable. 

Apple also updated most of its product lines. It introduced a game changing 27-inch iMac that offers an industry leading 5K display, the first for a desktop (or commercially available monitor) anywhere.
