MakerBot and The Foundry announce new partnership

MakerBot, a global leader in desktop 3D printing, and The Foundry, the global CG software provider, announced a unique partnership Thursday evening at The Foundry’s San Francisco launch event for MODO 801, the latest edition of the popular 3D modeling, animation, visual effects and rendering software package. MakerBot was one of the sponsors of the live-streamed event, which featured a range of leading speakers from a variety of industries.

Udacity helps you study anywhere with new iOS apps

Udacity is taking its free online courses to your mobile iOS devices with its new iPhone and iPad apps. It gives you access to all the courses you've subscribed to as well as whatever topic you'd want to study in the future. You can sign up for new courses and get more information on the requirements of each class and whether you will receive a certification after finishing the course. You can view the lectures on your device as well and save them for offline viewing. The Udacity app is available for free download here.

Microsoft works out kinks with Windows Phone's music app

Microsoft just released an update for its music app to address issues that cropped up on the Windows Phone 8.1 preview, such as no Cortana support and buggy interface. Now, the app lets you use voice command to search for playlists you want to list to, pause and play music, etc. Interface transitions look like they are smoother, too. And it woould seem the unexpected black screen issues are gone as well.
