Shoot and edit all-in-one with Videon

Smartphones these days are all about convenience. Wouldn’t you want an app that lets you shoot and edit all in one place? Lucky Clan’s Videon for iOS does just that. It is considered a one-stop app for all things video. Shown in the clip above are just some of the features you can find in the app.

Right now it’s up for free download but you need to act fast enough before it reverts to its normal price of $2.99 on the iTunes App Store.

Vine debuts on Kindle Fire tablets

Twitter’s Vine has finally ventured outside the iOS and Android ecosystems and unveils its first tablet version of the app for the Amazon Kindle Fire. It is important to note though that these tablets are Android-based so it’s possible this made it easier for them to create this version.

The app will run on all Kindle Fire tablets except for the first generation ones. No word yet on Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 versions of the app though.

Apple makes 'green' FaceTime icon official through trademarking filing

Phone makers are serious about their intellectual properties, take the ongoing struggles between OEM giants Samsung and Apple. They're constantly at war over patents, claiming copyright infringement with every waking innovation announced, so today's news should come as no surprise to anyone. Shortly after its big WWDC announcement earlier this month, Apple has gone ahead and patented the new flat 'green' FaceTime logo. Although, of course, things could change with the other app colors prior to iOS7's official release in September, its highly unlikely. Patents cost money and Apple wouldn't begin filing unless they were serious about moving forward.

The BlackBerry PlayBook's future was effectively ended last week with the news that BB10 OS, the current operating system running on the new smartphones, would not make it to the company's two-year old tablet. For owners of these 7-inch devices, this means that they are stuck with the QNX-based BlackBerry OS 2.0 OS, with little hope of seeing BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) or any new features applications moving forward.
