End of an Era: Adobe chucks Creative Suite in favour of subscription-based Creative Cloud

Just like Microsoft before it, Adobe has retired its flagship product offering as standalone software on discs and now offers it purely on a software as a service subscriptuion under the CC or Creative Cloud line.

Announced recently at their Adobe Max creative conference in Los Angeles, California, the benefits of subscription based software are automatic version updates and the ability to add more users and subscribers on the fly.

Video: HP's new ProBook Line of notebooks for enterprise

New York: We were on hand for a quick demo of HP's business-focused ProBook line available in 13.3-17.3-inch variants and sporting thinner, lighter aluminum bodies, spillproof keyboard and a pleasing new design including a tool-less access to the notebook's battery, hard drive and RAM slots. The ProBook line will be available through the usual channels and on HP's website this May.

HP revamps ProBook line of business focused notebooks for 2013

Focused on value-pricing with rugged and functional business-oriented features, the ProBook line from HP is seeing a huge refresh with various models across the line.

Announced today were the The ProBook 430, 440, 455 and 470 models which run the gamut in terms of screen-size and features from 13.3-inches to 17.3-inches. Thinner and lighter than their predecessors, the ProBooks feature aluminum construction, spillproof keyboards and enterprise-ready security features such as fingerprint scanners. HP is touting universal design elements across the line and a range of chipsets Starting at $499, the ProBooks, which are ideal for the SMB setting, will ship with 1,366 x 768 matte displays (non-touch) but can emulate the gestures particular to Windows 8 on trackpads. Choice of processors range from Intel's Ivy Bridge chips to lower cost AMD Richland processors.
