Newer iPad 2's feature more efficient processor, 15-30% better battery life

Peek-a-boo! Which one is your iPad 2?You have to hand it to Apple. When they released the new iPad , they didn't just lower the price of the iPad 2 16GB by $100, they actually continued improving last year's popular tablet.

Reports are stating that some of the newer iPad 2's are sporting a redesigned 32nm (nanometer) A5 processor that is also more efficient and gives 15-30% more battery life.

Which is which? The newer iPad 2 bears the identifier "iPad2,4"

This newer A5 chip is also present in the recent AppleTV while the new iPad still uses a 45 nm processor (it does have far more powerful graphics). Anandtech.com took apart one of these newer units, subjected it to multiple tests and came to the conclusion that they are indeed more frugal.

How do you make sure you get one of the newer models, well that's the tough part. As MacRumors states,"Unfortunately, Anandtech notes that there appears to be no way for customers to ensure that they receive one of these revised iPad 2 models for their $399 purchase, as there are still a significant number of the original iPad 2 models in circulation and they can not be distinguished based without opening the box and turning on the device."

LG reveals Optimus LTE 2 with 2GB of RAM

Are you ready for 2012's war of the super smartphones? We already have the Sony Xperia S, the HTC One X, Samsung took the wraps off the much awaited Galaxy S III just yesterd and now LG is raising the bar on it's Optimus LTE line.

The LG Optimus LTE 2 is the first device to ship with 2GB of RAM. No news on the processor powering this monster but we expect either a quad core or high-spec dual core SoC (System on a Chip)  in this for them to stay competitive.

The screen is  expected to be a  True HD IPS” display and it will feature a whopping  2,150mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities and a 'smart camera'.

Running a skinned variant of Android 4.0 (Gingerbread), the LG Optimus LTE2 is expected to launch in Korea mid-May with international plans to follow.

2GB of RAM means a higher ceiling for running multiple apps as well as improved overall performance for intensive applications, games and quick multitasking.

LG seems to have the upper hand in creating LTE devices that can be used across most LTE networks. Their hardware and features has been on par with the rest of the competition even if LG doesn't really do a lot to promote their devices.

The Optimus LTE 2, however could be an industry turning point, a true post-PC handset that's got a big screen, powerful processor, high speed data and a big enough battery to keep it running all day. Sweet.
