2011 has been Research In Motion’s annus horribilis. The past 12 months, the BlackBerry maker has often found itself in the news and on the defensive for a long list of truly unfortunate and often embarrassing reasons. But how serious is the situation at RIM?

The company was worth more than $70 billion a few years ago and today has a market value of around $8 billion. In 2004, RIM's stock value was $144 a share, when the markets closed Friday it was $13.44 a share.

Review: Toshiba Satellite Z830 Ultrabook

Few companies have been making notebooks longer than Toshiba and have managed to retain their identity and unique style. With its Satellite Z830, Toshiba meets the Ultrabook challenge head on with a 2.47 pound and 0.63-inch sliverbook that's well rounded and impressively outfitted and that doesn't rip off the MacBook Air's look and feel.

iTunes Match now available in Canada, $27.99 to qualify 25,000 songs from other sources

Thought of as the general amnesty for folks who have songs in their music collections that may have been acquired from dubious means and a good way to get better quality audio, iTunes Match is finally available to Canadian users.

Starting today, iTunes Match is available in Canada.  iTunes Match allows you stream and store ALL of your songs to any of your devices, not just your purchased iTunes music. TV purchase re-downloads and TV purchasing via Apple TV is also now available.
