Symantec: Facebook Apps are leaking access to third parties

A recent Symantec report from Nishant Doshi is claiming that a number of Facebook Web applications are leaking access to third party advertisers and analytic platforms potentially exposing user's accounts and information such as profiles, photographs, chat, and also had the ability to post messages and mine personal information.

Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate is Canada's first 4G smarphone from TELUS

Samsung  announced the launch of Canada's first smartphone with 4G speed, only from TELUS.  The Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G, is the first smartphone in Canada to offer peak download speeds of up to 21 megabits per second. These download speeds are 50 per cent faster than any other smartphone in Canada.

Microsoft Windows Do or Die challenge just got real

Windows is taking three students and plunking each of them in the middle of a foreign city with nothing but a Windows 7 laptop. No money, no suitcase, no security blanket. To survive, they’ll have to create, connect and share with Windows 7 + Windows Live, while the world watches at www.DOorDIE.ca.

Windows has found a group of quick-witted, connected, street-smart folks from which three survivalists will be selected. Hopefuls will have to convince the DO or DIE community they have what it takes to survive and earn their vote. The final three will then get to bring a friend, a laptop and a Windows Phone for their 10-day challenge while the community follows their progress, cheers them on, and maybe even helps them out.

SourceCode: Google's Big Play

Google's big developer conference, Google I/O 2011 took place this week amid a flurry of intriguing announcements in the Android OS and Chrome OS space. Google seems to be going after Apple in the music and video streaming and delivery space as well as staking a claim in the home automation and entertainment space. News this week included the unifiying of the Android OS between Tablet and Smartphone under the Ice Cream Sandwich release later this year and the launch of cloud-enabled Chromebook notebooks.
