Designed around families and home users, Kaspersky PURE integrates internet protection, parental controls, antivirus solutions, anti-theft solutions and can manage the various computers in a household from one central computer. Kaspersky PURE starts at $89.95 for 1 year protection for three PCs.

Design flaw in Sandy Bridge support chip will cost Intel $700M to fix

Intel Corporation has discovered a design issue in a recently released support chip, the Intel® 6 Series, code-named Cougar Point, and has implemented a silicon fix which will cost the company $700 Million. The chipset is utilized in PCs with Intel’s latest Second Generation Intel Core processors, code-named Sandy Bridge.

SourceCode: IBM turns 100, Android overtakes Symbian

Google's Android OS has finally overtaken Nokia's Symbian OS as the world's most popular smartphone platform in the fourth quarter, according to the research firm Canalys. 32.9m phones running  various versions of Android were sold to retailers and mobile networks in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with Symbian's total sales of 31m in the quarter, the report said.

Online Party of Canada: CRTC 2011-44 impedes our freedom of information

The Online Party of Canada (www.onlineparty.ca, Twitter @onlinepartyca) is a new, internet-based political party seeking registration in preparation for spring elections in Canada. The OPC joined various Canadians in decrying the CRTC's decision to allow service providers to apply Usage Based Billing (UBB) which could drive up Internet access costs and cap internet data limits. A move that puts Canadian internet users at a disadvantage and puts the brakes on cloud computing, Internet TV streaming services like Netflix and web based, access-heavy computer use.
