MasterCard brings contactless payment support to Fitbit Ionic

Fitbit just unveiled its newest smartwatch, the Fitbit Ionic, and brings with it a slew of new features. With that, MasterCard just announced that the new wearable will get contactless payment support, which it says is available at over 6.6 million merchants around the world. You just have to add your eligible cards to the fitness watch. The payment feature will first come to the US with participating issuer banks and will come to other markets soon after.

September 12 tipped as date for Apple's iPhone event

September 12th is now expected to be the day for Apple's big iPhone announcement this year accroding to a report from CNBC. Apple usually earmarks a Tuesday in the second week of September to reveal its latest iPhone, the latest iOS 11 features and, most likley, updates to various accessories like the Apple Watch as well as the Apple TV. While many believe that Apple is hoping to host the event at the new Steve Jobs Theatre at the new Apple Park headquarters, Apple may opt to use the San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium where it launched the iPhone 7 last year. 

2017 is the 10th year anniversary of the iPhone, Apple's most profitable product and the lynchpin of the companys multitude of ecosystems which range from apps, streaming music, wearables, fitness, car infotainment, home speakers and set-top boxes.

Nintendo announces three fun tournaments coming to Fan Expo Canada

This year's edition of Fan Expo Canada will have no shortage of fun! Nintendo has announced three exciting tournaments to this year's roster featuring three games on the Nintendo Switch system. The Nintendo booth on the show floor will include initaitonal tournaments for Splatoon 2 and Pokkén Tournament DX games. Plus attendees will have the chance to qualify in an ARMS tournament.
