Google Pixel devices also only gets a two-year OS update cycle

Google had the opportunity to do something different with its flagship Pixel smartphones. But, unfortunately, it’s sticking to an old formula. Just like Nexus devices of years past, there is a two-year cycle for the Pixel and Pixel XL to get operating system updates from Google. This means, users won’t be getting Android Q when that comes out in October 2019. What you would get is an additional year of security updates but that ends there. Google had the chance to keep users loyal to Pixel and give them a reward for sticking to the device but it seems they’ve missed the chance on this one.

There will be a black-and-white cut of ‘Logan’

If you loved Logan and want a pure black-and-white experience for it, you can own a piece of that. According to Logan’s director James Mangold, there will be a Blu-ray and DVD release for it. But if you find yourself in the U.S. on May 16^th, then you’ll have a chance to catch the black-and-white version on that one night. Not much has been said yet when it’ll be shown but this version of the film, as Mangold said, had to be “regraded [and] timed shot by shot.”

Suggestion. Hard core B&W loving LOGAN fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.

Google adds links to media content services when searching on iOS

Google just updated its search capabilities on iOS to make it easier to look for media content—like movies and music—online. When you do a Google search on a specific song, TV show, or movie. The results will show in the Knowledge Panel icons for services that offer the content, like iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, YouTube, etc. If you click on these links, it’ll take you straight to that app or service. And if you haven’t signed up for the specific service, pricing information will be displayed, too. This feature should show up on both Google Search app as well as on mobile web browser.
