Microsoft releases ‘Minecraft’ for Oculus Rift

Microsoft announced a while back that Minecraft is coming to the Oculus Rift—a Gear VR version has been available since April after all. But now the wait for Oculus Rift owners is over. A free update coming to the game’s Windows 10 beta edition will add support for the virtual reality headset. The Windows 10 version gets a leg up over the Gear VR version and adds things like support for mouse and keyboard as well as graphics settings that make use of the power of the computer the Oculus Rift is connected to. The game has separate settings for inside and outside the VR headset so you can tweak in-VR graphics or movements that won’t affect the experience if you play it on another platform sans VR.

There’s a Chinese clone of ‘Pokémon Go’… sort of

When Flappy Bird briefly burst into the scene, there were copycats of the game. And now it’s not surprising that the exceptionally popular Niantic game Pokémon Go has some kind of weird clone floating around in China. Looking at the screenshots above, you can see it looks like you’re trying to catch out of shape Pokémon. But it isn’t really about going out and catching the tiny creatures, it’s more for practicing how to throw Pokéballs. The developers have updated the app—it’s called Ball Practice for Pokémon Go, if you’re curious—to make the creatures look less like zombie versions of your beloved Pokémon. Reviews on the Google Play Store aren’t exactly kind with people complaining about too many ads on the game. If you still want to check it out of curiosity, you can download it here. GMC gets more fuel efficiency out of its newest SUV with glue

GMC is using an unusual method to make its latest SUV more fuel efficient: using adhesive. The car manufacturer makes use of aircraft-grade adhesives for the 2017 GMC Acadia. What this has done is reduce the use of rivets and welds and helped in the creation of a body so stiff, it made it possible to use thinner steel. The SUV drops over 700 pounds from its predecessor of while giving 23 miles per gallon with this change. The 2016 model only got 18 miles per gallon.

The change is essential because the US government wants its automakers to reach an average fleet goal of 54.5MPG by the year 2025. This means fuel economy has to happen across many models as possible—even gas-guzzling SUVs.

Reports claim ‘Final Fantasy XV’ release is delayed to November

Final Fantasy fans you might have two more months to wait for the long-awaited Final Fantasy XV to launch. Rumours have surfaced that the new release date is pushed to November 29^th instead of September 30^th. Gamnesia cited a source said to be from retail chain GameStop management that the company has received date-adjusted promotional materials for the game, and that they have orders to hold these until after August 14^th. They’ve even shown an image with instructions on how to apply a sticker on an assembled standee with the announced released date on it. Kotaku also got the report and had another “non-retail” source to back them up. Of course, it’s still just a rumour until Square Enix confirms it or not. We will keep you posted for any updates.
