LG adds Dolby Atmos, wireless TV connections to 2023 soundbars

Source: LG SC9

Ahead of its CES 2023 appearance, LG also has its new 2023 soundbar lineup coming to the show. The new SC9 and SE6 models both come with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive sound. These soundbars will have a feature called Wow Orchestra. This tool "utilizes every one of the two products’ audio channels to create an expanded soundstage with improved height, depth and power." It's unclear how this translates to real-life use, but it will arrive via a software update post-launch. The two soundbars will also come with Wowcast to make it wirelessly connect to LG TVs over Wi-Fi.

Source: JLab

JLab wants to cater to those looking for premium earbuds, too. Alongside the new JBuds Mini, the company has the new Epic Lab Edition. These US$199 (around CA$270) earbuds are said to be its "best-sounding" buds to date. These come equipped with a hybrid dual driver design, ambient sound mode, active noise cancellation with different modes, touch controls, and up to 50 hours of use with the case. You'll have to wait a bit for this pair as it'll come out in Q3 2023, too.

JLab is working on over-the-counter hearing aids

Source: JLab

JLab joins other headphone companies working on hearing aids you can easily access. The company plans to unveil two models in 2023. It hasn't revealed too many details yet, but we're hoping to hear more about these at CES 2023. There will be the OTC Hearing Aid and Self-Fitting OTC Hearing Aid. The former will retail for US$99 (around CA$135), while the latter's price will be announced later.

Both are expected to have "impressive" battery life and work with iOS and Android devices. And based on the renders above, they look like regular JLab earbuds, making them easily blend in as normal buds when worn. JLab also plans to debut these hearing aids alongside the JLab JBuds Mini and Epic Lab Edition in the third quarter of 2023.

JLab JBuds Mini is its smallest earbuds yet

Source: JLab

One of the new products JLab is bringing to CES 2023 is its smallest earbuds yet. The JBuds Mini is 30 percent smaller than its Go Air Pop buds that debuted in 2021. Despite the small build, it still packs in onboard controls, Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, and around six hours of use (approx. 20 hours with the case). Its charging case is as small as the earbuds (roughly the size of a car key fob) and comes with an integrated key ring loop. JLab will sell the JBuds Mini for US$39 (around CA$53) in the third quarter of 2023. It'll debut alongside the JLab Epic Lab Edition and its first hearing aids.
