New Apple HomePod mini colours rumoured to arrive Nov. 1 in some regions

After introducing new HomePod mini colours, Apple hasn't shared availability details beyond "late November" and "November" for different regions. The former period is for the U.K., Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and India. While the U.S., Canada, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and Taiwan are expected to get it sometime next month.

Apple Track claims the new yellow, blue, and orange variants will be available for order starting Monday, November 1. If that date is accurate, MacRumors speculates that countries like the US and Canada will be the first to get the device. We'll make sure to keep you posted about this. Pricing for the new HomePod mini is expected to be the same as the original. If you just want a new colour or haven't gotten one but want one, you might want to wait for this.

WhatsApp's iOS-to-Android history transfer tool comes to Pixel devices

WhatsApp's cross-platform chat history transfer tool from iOS to Android first debuted on Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 10 and above. But now, it's coming to other Android devices. Unlike Samsung's implementation, it's only limited to Android 12 phones, which means it's only accessible to the Pixel phones for now. But Google says it'll come to new smartphones launching with the latest version of the mobile operating system.

Similar to the setup with Samsung, you'll need a Lightning-to-USB-C cable to connect your two devices. It also involves a QR code you need to scan when you first set up your new Pixel/Android phone.

In case you missed the news, Spotify announced last week that it would encourage all podcasters on its platform to add videos to their shows. Any creator can already apply for access to video uploading features in Anchor. The company's free self-publishing podcast division will distribute the episodes directly on Spotify.

But the rollout of "vodcasts" will be on a "rolling basis." They want to attract existing podcasters to expand to videos and welcome video creators looking to bring their content to Spotify. The service has over 2.9 million podcasts on it. Interested creators can apply at this link.

Sony launches Xperia Pro-I with its RX100 VII 1-inch sensor onboard

Sony's latest premium camera shifts focus to photography enthusiasts or professionals who want a more powerful camera on their smartphones. The new Sony Xperia Pro-I comes equipped with a 1-inch sensor borrowed from the company's RX100 VII point-and-shoot camera.

It gives the primary sensor on this handset impressive 2.4µm-sized pixels, promising better performance in low light. (That's also twice the pixel pitch on the newest Pixel 6 Pro.) This sensor can also shoot 12-bit RAW files and native 4K video at 120 frames per second with eye-detection auto-focus. The auto-focus on this sensor has 315 points that cover 90 percent of the frame.
