Twitter begins tests of safety feature that autoblocks abusive accounts

Twitter is introducing a new feature that temporarily autoblocks accounts that send harmful or abusive tweets to you. Safety Mode launched in beta with a "small feedback group" on iOS, Android, and Twitter.com with English-language settings enabled. Accounts are blocked for seven days, but you can undo any autoblocks that were wrongfully flagged.

Windows 11 will arrive on Oct. 5, won't get Android app support at launch

Microsoft is almost ready to unveil Windows 11. The operating system update will arrive as a free upgrade for Windows 10 systems that can support it and the new PCs shipping with the OS pre-installed. It won't be available on all devices, though. It will be a gradual rollout, starting with more recent hardware. Microsoft uses "intelligence models" to determine who gets the upgrade first (reliability and device age). 

All supported machines are expected to get the update by mid-2022. Some Windows 19 PCs will get a fast-track for the update, including some Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and Microsoft models.

Twitter launches Super Follows in US and Canada for iOS users

Twitter has now officially launched its Super Follow, a new feature that lets creators introduce subscriber-only content for a fee. It's designed to help content creators monetize their tweets and earn on the platform. 

It's first rolling out to iOS users in the US and Canada, but it'll be available globally in the coming weeks, at least for iOS users. If you want to subscribe, you can tap the Super Follow button on an account's profile to see pricing details. Right now, Supper Follow tweets are only viewable on iOS.

Polaroid Now+ launches with clip-on filters

Polaroid's Now+ analog camera gets a bit of smarts with Bluetooth and app support, along with five new lens filters you can clip on the camera. The filters include Starburst, Orange, Red Vignette, Blue, and Yellow colours, allowing you to play around with the saturation, contrast, and different effects of your shots. This upgrade to last year's Polaroid Now also comes with autofocus, dynamic flash, and self-timer functionality. If you want to take self-portraits, you can mount this on a tripod now, too.

On the software side, the Polaroid app gets a new streamlined design with features like aperture priority and tripod mode, light painting, double exposure, and manual. The Polaroid Now+ is available in a new Blue Gray colour along with the Black and White options. It retails for USD 149.99, and it's available exclusively on Polaroid's site.
