GM sues Ford over the branding of its hands-free driving tech

Source: Ford

The two Detroit carmakers are butting heads once again as GM sues Ford for allegedly violating the trademarks of its Super Cruise feature and its autonomy-focused Cruise company. In case you didn't know, Ford calls its hands-free driving technology BlueCruise.

GM was reportedly holding mediated talks with Ford to reach a "good-faith" arrangement, but the two companies couldn't reach an agreement before the July 24 deadline. A GM spokesperson said the company had "no choice" but to sue Ford after failing to resolve the issue "amicably."

Apple Music brings lossless streaming and Spatial Audio to Android

Source: Apple

If you're on Android and you update your Apple Music app to the latest version, you'll finally get access to the service's lossless streaming and Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio. For the latter, your phone needs to support Dolby Atmos to get the feature to work. More flagship-tier devices will most likely have this feature. It will work with any headphones, though. As for lossless, you will need external hardware like a DAC to get hi-res lossless.

These features come at no extra charge for subscribers, but not all tracks support lossless streaming yet. The company does plan to bring that feature to all of its 75 million catalog. And for Dolby Atmos, there are curated playlists and special badges on the streaming service to make it easier to find these songs.

These Apple devices will support Apple Music's Spatial Audio playback

As Apple rolled out an update for Apple Music on Android, the company also updated a support document that showed which Apple devices can support Spatial Audio playback. And it looks like some of the older devices won't be getting the feature.

The new change states that the "built-in speakers on an iPhone XS or later (except iPhone SE), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later), iPad Pro 11-inch, or iPad Air (4th generation)" will support Spatial Audio. This means the iPad mini 5, the iPhone XR, or the standard iPad 6, iPad 7, or iPad 8.
