Chromecast with Google TV and its remote gets another 'incremental update'

It looks like Chromecast with Google TV has some more small bugs to crush. Google rolled out another "incremental update" nearly a couple of months after its launch. Version 200918.015 is rolling out now to the units. And if you have one, you might get a notification about it. The 86.48MB download will automatically install around 3 a.m. once it's been downloaded to the new Chromecast.

If you want to check if it's already on your system, you can head to Settings > System > About > System Updates. It's expected to be based on Android 10 with the September 2020 security patch on board. The remote is also getting a minor update with firmware version 24.2, which will install shortly after the Chromecast is updated. You can also install it yourself by heading to Settings > System > Remotes & Accessories > Chromecast Remote. It isn't clear what issues Google is working on with the updates as they didn't release a changelog for the updates.

Square Enix teases a more cartoonish Lara Croft in 'Tomb Raider Reloaded' mobile game

Lara Croft gets another resurrection in the mobile space with this new game from Vancouver-based Emerald City Games. Square Enix dropped the trailer for Tom Raider Reloaded, which is described as a free-to-play mobile arcade shooter.

As you can see in the trailer, Lara gets a more cutesy, cartoon-like makeover. But she's still going to be taking on monsters like wolves, giant spiders, and more. The trailer doesn't really reveal much about what the game is about, and we have to wait a bit for it to come out. Tomb Raider Reloaded will be launched sometime in 2021.

A 'Super Mario Bros. 3' copy became most expensive game sold at US$156,000

It seems one Super Mario fan or collector was so keen to get a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 that they were willing to pay a lot of money for it. A rare copy of the game was bought at an auction for US$156,000 (around CA$203,260). It is now the most expensive sealed copy of a game ever sold, with a starting bid of US$62,500 (CA$81,428) that had 20 bidders trying to get their hands on it. It beat out another Super Mario Bros. copy, which a bidder got in July for US$114,000 (CA$148,525).

This copy of the game is one of the earliest releases as it has a rare box design. The word "Bros." is seen on the left instead of the more commonly known right placement, with it covering a bit of Mario's glove. The copy was also in excellent condition with a Wata 9.2 A+ rating for the box's quality and seal. Heritage Auctions sold a Wata 9.0 A-rated copy of the same game in July for US$38,400 (CA$50,029).

CD Projekt Red, NVIDIA tease 'Cyberpunk 2077' and its ray-tracing features

With Cyberpunk 2077 finally coming out in the next few weeks, game developer CD Projekt Red wants to show off the gaming. The latest behind-the-scenes video shows off gameplay footage featuring DXR ray-tracing and NVIDIA's DLSS tech. According to NVIDIA, the game is "more immersive and detailed" if you have ray-tracing enabled.

The company says that "glorious ray-traced reflections are cast on every possible surface; substantially improved shadows naturally soften and sharpen; [and] shops, streets and buildings are realistically illuminated with diffuse lighting."
