Apple’s upcoming TV show will be about apps

Apple is not exactly falling far from the tree with one of its first attempts at original programming. The tech giant is partnering with TV executives Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens as well as rapper Will.i.am to produce a show about app economy. It won’t be following in the vein of HBO’s Silicon Valley but will be unscripted. Yes, it seems more like a documentary. Silverman was the one who brought the idea to Apple. There’s no word yet on how Will.i.am figures into the production but we should find out more details in the future. There’s also no word yet on production schedule, where it’ll air or be available to watch, and when it will launch. Eddie Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet software and services, has made it clear that Apple doesn’t plan on being a production company anytime soon. So perhaps, the rumoured Dr. Dre show before will just remain a rumour.

Shazam gets deeper integration with Apple Music in new iOS update

Apple had plans to expand the capabilities of Apple Music with third-party apps. We’re now seeing that with the latest update of Shazam. The music discovery app now lets you easily add songs to your Apple Music library and into any of your preexisting playlists. A new My Shazam Tracks playlist will also be available in the Apple Music app, when you Shazam songs, which is much like what you can do with Spotify. You can also listen to full tracks you Shazam without leaving the Shazam app as these are streamed directly from Apple Music.

Android 6.0.1 update for the Moto X Play comes to Canada

A new update for Android Marshmallow is coming to Moto X Play owners in the country. Version 6.0.1. of the Android operating system brings with it things like new emojis, an easier way to launch the camera, and a very important security patch. The patch is very much welcome with all the security threats surfacing recently so it’s good Google is addressing these issues. Aside from that the update brings with it Unicode 8.0 to give you over a hundred new emojis. The camera now can also be launched by double pressing the power button. The shutter sound can also be turned on and off whenever you want to. The update is only 388MB so it should be a quick and easy update for your Moto X Play.

Beauty takes Uber approach with beGlammed App

A new app, beGlammed, has launched in Toronto that offers beauty services on demand. Think Uber but for hair and make up where users of the app can call upon stylists to visit their home or workplace at a tap of screen on their smart devices.

Who would use this type of service? Those who are time-crunched and need to get to events but can't get to a salon for sure (I fall into that category often). But also those who much more organized or planning out weddings, proms and other special occasions.
