Introducing Jaguar’s fastest production car yet

The Jaguar F-Type isn’t a new sports car but it now has a special version that’s touted as the fastest production car the company has introduced—the Jaguar F-Type SVR. It’s also the first Jaguar car to carry the SVR badge, which is named after the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations group (the team behind the project). It’s powered by a 5-liter V8 engine that produces 575 horsepower. It has improved aerodynamics, an even more badass-sounding exhaust system, new suspension, and other options like a carbon fiber roof panel and carbon ceramic brakes to make it run just a bit faster.

How fast is it at the moment? It reaches a top speed of 200mph for the coupe and 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds. It’s priced around US$126,000 (around $174,000) and it’s up for order in the U.S. already with deliveries expected at the beginning of the summer.

Google closes Play for Education program

Google’s shuttering its Play for Education program three years after it was first announced and made available in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. The program was meant to encourage the use of tablets in the classroom. Starting March 14, the company will stop selling licenses for Play for Education but they will continue to support existing license holders for an unspecified period of time. The Next Web speculates that the focus of Google at the moment is getting more Chromebooks into the classroom. We hope that becomes a more viable solution to help kids learn in school.

Instagram reportedly started rolling out two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is possibly one of the best ways to keep your online accounts secure. It took Instagram long enough to adopt the feature but it seems that’s about to change soon. The app has reportedly started rolling out the feature to some of its users. When it’s available to you, you just need to verify your phone number. Once you open the app and try to sign in with your account name and password, you’ll get a text message with an authentication code that you need to log in with. Basically, it’s the same application with other two-factor authentication logins. There is no official word yet from Instagram when they’ll roll it out for everyone. But it should be making its way to you soon.
