Atari to bring 100 classic games to PC age

It’s time to put away or on display your old Atari console. Atari plans to bring 100 “iconic, fan-favorite” games to the PC. Called the Atari Vault, it will include games like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Tempest, and Warlords. These games will feature updated user interfaces, new online and local multiplayer options, and Steam Controller support. But what won’t change is the classic ‘70s and ‘80s soundtracks to take you back to that age of gaming. Atari Vault will also let you challenge other players on Steam Leaderboards to give you the ultimate bragging rights of being the best arcade player (if you are, that is).

Atari will be previewing Atari Vault at PAX South 2016 in Texas from January 29 to 31. Code Mystics is said to be developing the collection and will launch in Spring 2016.

Gmail app gets fix for Hotmail sync issues, still working on Nexus trouble

A new version of Gmail is fixing issues you may have with trying to manage your old Hotmail account on Google’s email app. Version 5.10 of the app takes care of this bug as well as other bugs you might be experiencing with the email client. It wasn’t specified if there were also issues with Outlook.com addresses, which replaced Hotmail, but it’s worth a try to update.

Unfortunately, the Nexus users who are having trouble with Gmail accounts don’t get a fix just yet. Google said these syncing issues are “actively being worked on.” Let’s hope they remedy that quickly. It’s a bit strange that Android users are having issues with a phone sold by Google that runs stock Android.

Microsoft issues recall for Surface Pro, Pro 2 and Pro 3 AC power cords

Microsoft has issued a recall for Surface Pro, Surface Pro 2 and some Surface Pro 3 AC power cords sold before July 2015. The recall affects the AC power cord, which is removable cord that connects the power supply to an electrical outlet and not the power brick with the magnetic attachment to the Surface device.

Microsoft will provide one AC power cord replacement free of charge for each eligible Surface Pro device that you own. No proof of damage is required to receive a replacement AC power cord.

If you have more than one Surface Pro device, you’ll need to submit a replacement order for each one.

Kickstarter comes to Android

Kickstarter has finally come to Android, making it easier for you to discover new projects to crowdfund. It also has Kickstarter's activity feed so you can see updates from your favorite crowdfunders and projects your friends are interested in. The app gets the Material Design treatment so it doesn't stray too far from familiar Android apps. Kickstarter says they also plan on eventually adding tools for creators to manage their projects.
