Adobe tests free web version of Photoshop in Canada

Source; CNET

In case you missed the news, Adobe is offering a free web version of Photoshop, which it is piloting in Canada. Adobe's goal is to make the photo editing software accessible to more users. The company plans to offer it in more regions, but it's only available to Canadian users for now.

An Adobe spokesperson confirmed that this free web-based app version will get "all editing features" available. But it is described as a "freemium" product, suggesting there will be a paid option at some point. It will supposedly have the tools to "perform what Adobe considers to be Photoshop's core functions," an upgrade from the previous web version of the app. You will need an Adobe account to try out this app.

WhatsApp allows you to mute and message individuals in group calls

Source: Will Cathcart/TwitterA new update to WhatsApp will help make group calls more manageable. You can now mute and message specific people in group calls and get notified when someone joins that call. The former will come in handy when someone forgets to mute themselves or have a particularly noisy background that distracts from the conversation. If you do a lot of group calls on the app, these new additions might come in handy.

What to expect from Telegram's Premium subscription service

Telegram's Premium subscription service is launching, offering users extra features they can enjoy on the messaging app. Some of its biggest draws include faster downloads and double the maximum file upload size to 4GB (instead of 2GB). The company hasn't mentioned pricing yet on the blog post detailing the features, but sites like The Verge reported US$4.99 (~CA$6.50) and TechCrunch says between $5 (~CA$6.50) and $6 (~CA$8).

Premium subscribers also get double the limits imposed on non-paying users. You can join up to 1,000 channels instead of 500. You can create 20 chat folders with 200 chats each, save up to 10 stickers, pin up to 10 chats, and add four accounts to Telegram instead of three. You can also have longer bios with a link.

YouTube Music recommendations shows up in Android 12

Source: 9to5Google

YouTube Music wants to make it easier for you to check out music recommendations on Android 12. It will automatically display recent albums and playlists when connecting an audio device like headphones or Bluetooth speakers. It'll also show up in your Quick Settings. There's the app icon and app name in the top-left corner. When you open Quick Settings, six albums are on display, while the lockscreen can show you three.

If you tap on any of the albums, it'll immediately start playback and switch you to the Now Playing controls. 9to5Google reports seeing the recommendations consistently when connecting headphones on Android 12.
