'Pokémon Scarlet' and 'Violet' is coming to the Switch in late 2022

During its Pokémon Presents broadcast, The Pokémon Company teased a couple of new games coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will launch on the portable console in late 2022. And you can see the teaser trailer above. As The Verge pointed out, this "open-world adventure" looks reminiscent of 2019's Pokémon Sword and Shield. According to Game Freak, they "take a new evolutionary step in the Pokémon main series."

Huawei announces half e-reader, half tablet MatePad Paper

Huawei's newest tablet is also an e-reader. If you wanted more features than a Kindle, that's what the MatePad Paper offers. It's a 10.3-inch device featuring a greyscale screen with an anti-glare reflective display for low-light use. It can reproduce 256 shades of greyscale to display text, images, and videos. I'm not sure I'd be too excited about black & white videos (unless they're created that way). But it's an option here. It also has 32 levels of backlighting.

For an e-ink device, the MatePad Paper has relatively smaller bezels. Huawei says it can achieve an 86.3 percent screen-to-body ratio but gets a book spine-inspired design to make sure you still have something to hold. The MatePad Paper also supports the Huawei M Pencil, so you can scribble or annotate on documents or books. According to the company, it has refined the sensitivity of the textured screen to 26ms, which might not seem much for newer devices. But it's a notable feature on a matte e-ink surface.

You can record voice-based journal entries on your iPhone with the Sound Off app. This iOS app lets you record your thoughts into self-contained memos. The app offers daily audio prompts if you're unsure where to start.

The app promises to keep your recordings safe, with everything backed up via iCloud. It also offers cross-device syncing, and all your entries are locked up behind your Apple ID. The app itself is free, but the audio starters and journaling content will require a monthly or annual Sound Off Premium subscription.
