Samsung’s 3nm Chip to supposedly debut in Galaxy Watch7, not Galaxy S24

Samsung has ambitious plans to produce chips with smaller and smaller nanometer (nm) sizes in the coming years. However, its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24, will not use its latest 3nm technology. Instead, it will have a 4nm Exynos 2400 processor. The 3nm chip, which might be called Exynos W940, will reportedly debut in the Galaxy Watch7 series in the second half of 2024.

This will be a major upgrade from the previous Galaxy Watch models, which used 5nm Exynos W920 and W930 chips. The Galaxy Watch 7 will also reportedly be compatible with Samsung’s new foldable phones, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. These devices are expected to launch at the same Unpacked event in 2024.

A 3nm chip could offer significant benefits for smartwatches, such as longer battery life and better performance. This is something that Galaxy Watch fans have been looking forward to for a long time. The Galaxy Watch 7 could be the breakthrough product that delivers on these expectations.
