Netflix, Ubisoft partner to develop live action 'Assassin's Creed' series

Source: Netflix

The next game franchise to get a Netflix show (or shows, in this case) is Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. The streaming service and game developer plan on developing live-action, animated, and anime series based on the title.

First up is the live-action adaptation, which will have Ubisoft Film & Television's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik onboard as executive producers. They're currently in search of the series' showrunner. Without a showrunner yet, it might take some time before we see this project come out.

Samsung Galaxy S21 might not include charger, earphones in the box

Samsung is reportedly toying around with not including a charger and a pair of earphones with its upcoming Galaxy S21 flagship. If the rumours are true, the company will follow in Apple's footsteps, who took out the iPhone 12's accessories. Apple said it was for environmental purposes, but without reducing the price, it's also seen as a way to increase its profit margins. And Samsung might be following in that thinking.

As SamMobile points out, this move could be ironic, given the company's social media team heavily made fun of Apple's announcement that it was getting rid of the charger.

'Crash Bandicoot: On The Run' to arrive in Spring 2021

Source: King

The new Crash Bandicoot mobile version didn't have a release date or official title when King first announced the game. Now, we learn from the developer that the game is called Crash Bandicoot: On The Run and that it'll arrive sometime in Spring 2021.

The game will be an endless runner, with weapons crafting and base building thrown into the mix. Aside from Crash, it'll have characters like Coco, Fake Crash, and Crash's nemesis Neo Cortex. Like Android users, iOS users can now pre-register for the game. Those who sign up will get a notification when the game is available for download. You will also get a mobile-exclusive Blue Hyena Skin from Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled on launch day.

Microsoft to release 'The Mandalorian' Xbox controller bundle

Source: Microsoft

Microsoft is gearing up for the second season of The Mandalorian with a new Xbox controller bundle. It includes a single gamepad and charging stand skinned in the armour Din Djarin wears partway through season one. It's not going to be cheap, though. The controller comes in at US$160 (around CA$211). Do we have to blame the fictional, rare beskar steel from the show?

If you are a fan with some money to spare, the accessory might be for you. This could be the last accessory for the current Xbox generation, but it's still possible to use it with the Xbox Series X and Series S. The bundle is coming to the US at the end of the year. But as Engadget points out, this might be a placeholder, and we could see it arrive earlier.
