Sony rumoured to increase PS5 production to meet COVID-19 demand

If the reports are accurate, it looks like Sony wants to capitalize on people looking for entertainment while staying at home. The company will reportedly double the production of its next-generation PlayStation 5 console. Instead of just producing five or six million consoles, the manufacturer will reportedly make up to nine to 10 million units. With the PS5 slated to come out during "holiday 2020," this might be a big ask.

And if they do meet the quota, the next issue would be shipping the additional devices. Most of these gadgets are manufactured in China and shipped via ocean freighters. And combined with the demand, it's tough to get things out on time. Sony is supposedly considering air cargo, even though many carriers are also operating at reduced capacity because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mozilla launches VPN for Windows, Android

Canada is one of the few countries getting a new VPN service from Mozilla. The organization believes its service stands above the many VPN offerings out there. Mozilla claims it's faster with fewer lines of code than the average VPN. And with its track record with privacy, it claims you can keep your private browsing secure. The organization won't partner with third-party analytics firms or keep user data logs. And those who haven't used a VPN before can figure it out.

Mozilla VPN supports up to five Windows and Android devices for US$5 (around CA$7) per month. And it lets you connect to over 30 servers around the world with WireGuard encryption securing the connection. The software is also available in the US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and New Zealand. It will come to more countries in the fall. iOS users will also get the app soon.
