Google warns about delays of YouTube Music transfers due to 'high demand'

Google's transfer option from Play Music to YouTube Music went live recently. And a lot of people seem to be taking advantage of the feature, enough of them that the company had to warn users that the transfers are "delayed" because of "high demand." The transfer tool is available online and in the YouTube Music app. And at this point, transfers can take up to several days to complete.

The company didn't explain why the slowdown is happening. Despite this happening, more users are getting access to the feature. But we won't be surprised if even that is delayed, too.

Facebook tests Face ID, Touch ID lock for Messenger

Similar to what it already implements on WhatsApp, Facebook is testing the capability to lock the Messenger app on iOS using Face ID or Touch ID authentication. You can opt to require authentication every time the app is opened or after some time without use (ranging from one minute to an hour). Facebook is introducing this biometric authentication feature to help secure users' private messages. It's currently available for a small number of Facebook Messenger users, but the company plans to expand its use in the future. It won't say when, so if you don't have it yet, you're going to have to wait.

Google fights back against Sonos and countersues the company for patent infringement. The tech giant claims Sonos is infringing five Google patents that involve mesh networking, echo cancellation, DRM, content notifications, and personalized search. Sonos initially filed a patent lawsuit against Google in January. This ongoing row has already resorted to a US International Trade Commission investigation.

The Verge says the lawsuit serves a couple of purposes: one is to countersue Sonos, and another is for the tech giant to show that it feels aggrieved after assisting Sonos with its product development.
