Wear OS will now remind you to wash your hands

Now more than ever, it's necessary to wash your hands frequently. And if you need a reminder, Google is here to help. The Clock application on Wear OS will now send periodic alerts reminding you to wash your hands. When you open the alarm, a timer for 40 seconds will be started along with a reminder to use soap for handwashing. When you're done, the app will let you know that another alert will come in another three hours. If you can do without the reminder, then head to its notification channel. Hold down the notification to disable it. The feature comes with v5.4.0 update of Wear OS, so check your Wear OS's Play Store to see if you have it.

Disney+ to air 'The Mandalorian' documentary starting on 'Star Wars' Day

The Child a.k.a. Baby Yoda is arguably the most popular character out of 'The Mandalorian' (Still courtesy of Lucasfilm/Disney)

May 4 is extra special to Star Wars fans. And now there's another reason for fans to get extra excited this coming May 4. An eight-episode documentary on the Star Wars series The Mandalorian will start streaming then. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian comes from the show's producer Jon Favreau, and it gives us a look at behind-the-scenes footage, cast and crew interviews, and roundtable discussions with Favreau.

According to the press release, the docuseries will also shed light on the show's filmmaking process, its "groundbreaking technology," and the "artistry behind the show's practical models, effects, and creatures," among other things. Lucasfilm didn't say if we're getting a look at The Child's (a.k.a. Baby Yoda) lineage, but we're holding out hope that the series will shed some light on the beloved character's background. New episodes of the show will be available every Friday on Disney+.

A portion of Apple's (PRODUCT)RED proceeds will go to COVID-19 response efforts

While Apple's (PRODUCT)RED proceeds usually go to HIV/AIDS assistance, the company plans to allocate a portion of the proceeds to COVID-19 response efforts from now until September 30. Apple hasn't said how much of the donations will go to Global Fund's COVID-19 Response. Still, it will apply to all (PRODUCT)RED gadgets and accessories, including the soon-to-be-available (PRODUCT)RED variant of the new iPhone SE.

(PRODUCT)RED is an ongoing partnership between RED and major companies like Apple, Starbucks, and Nike to help raise funds, spread awareness, and eradicate HIV/AIDS in African countries. Apple doesn't disclose how much money it redirects to the charity. But this isn't the first COVID-19-related assistance the tech giant is offering. Right now, it's working with Google to develop a contact-tracing system for mobile devices.

YouTube Music has a new Explore tab to help with music discovery

YouTube Music is getting another new feature on mobile to help you discover new songs. The streaming music app will replace the Hotlist tab with a new Explore tab. The section features two subsections: New Releases and Moods & Genres. If you use other streaming music apps like Spotify, then you've seen something similar. The New Releases section considers your listening history when it shares you new tracks to listen to, while the Moods & Genres section offers premade playlists you might want to dive into. The company has started rolling out the feature, so expect it to make its way to your Android or iOS device soon.
