Microsoft Your Phone app might soon allow cross-device copy and paste

Microsoft's Your Phone app might soon let you copy and paste from one device to another. The app, which is designed to bridge your PC with your phone, has hints of this feature in its latest Insider version. Some references describe a new Content Transfer feature. It has the references like 'SharedContentPhotos,' 'ContentTransferCopyPaste,' and 'ContentTransferDragDrop.'

Trying to enable the feature with a hack show the "Cross-device copy and paste" option you see above. But the feature doesn't seem to be live yet. It will be a useful one if Microsoft decides to enable it. Your Phone is available in the Microsoft Store, Google Play Store, and Apple App Store.

Google tests out feature that recommends you which old tabs to close

Google wants to help keep our browsers clutter-free. The company is testing out a way to remind you to close old tabs. It has been working since August, but now it's showing up more prominently. The "Suggest to close Tabs" feature is hidden behind a flag in chrome://flags, but some versions of Chrome (like the Canary build) have it enabled by default.

If enabled, the feature will analyze your usage and check which tabs are unused or "stale." It isn't clear how Google determines what constitutes a stale tab beyond general activity or interaction with it. The feature won't automatically close the tab for you. Instead, it will open a window and let you determine which tabs it should close. Google hasn't announced if or when it will release this feature to the general public.

Microsoft's Xbox Console Streaming preview is now available globally

Microsoft has been experimenting with streaming Xbox games to Android phones and tablets through a limited beta. Now, all Xbox Insiders in countries that support Xbox One can try it out. But gamers will need to be part of an Update Preview ring, and you'll need an Android device running Marshmallow or higher. You'll also need a Bluetooth Xbox One controller and a speedy home network to make sure the setup can handle streaming.

According to Microsoft's Jonathan Hildebrandt, the company believes "the public preview as an important step in our journey to deliver game streaming to Xbox players around the world." Microsoft is pleased with the feedback given by early-access testers in the US and the UK. Hildebrandt said users can expect performance updates in the future.
