Air Canada introduces interactive airport maps in redesigned app

Air Canada launches its new iOS and Android app, bringing with it new features to help ease your airport and airline experience. One of the latest features is interactive airport maps for Toronto Pearson International Airport, Montreal Trudeau International Airport, and Vancouver International. A first for a Canadian airline, the map shows things like flight connections, gates, restaurants, bathrooms, and the closest Air Canada lounge. If you need estimated walking times, that's available, too.

The airline's app launch also lays the groundwork for the introduction of its new loyalty program launching in the new year. Some of the other things you can do in the app include booking flights, checking flight status, managing trips, and checking-in. The app was developed entirely in Canada by Air Canada's technology team.

'Magic: The Gathering' developer exposes data of 452,000 players

Wizards of the Coast, the developer of Magic: The Gathering, exposed user data of 452,634 players because of a security lapse. The Washington-based game maker left a file in a public Amazon Web Services storage bucket without a password or encryption, giving anyone access to the information.

The data included 470 staff email addresses, players' names and usernames, email addresses, the date and time the accounts were made, and hashed and salted user passwords. The account data ranged from 2012 to 2018.

Disney+ to offer 'The Simpsons' in original uncropped format in early 2020

After drawing flak for its release of older The Simpsons episodes in 16:9 HD format, Disney promises that the original 4:3 aspect ratio will be made available to Disney+ users in early 2020. The problem with the 16:9 format is it cuts out some key details and even jokes from some of the earlier seasons. Disney defends its initial position by saying they launched the show with a 16:9 aspect ratio to "guarantee visual quality and consistency across all 30 seasons." But the company promises to make the first 19 seasons and some of Season 20 available in the original 4:3 aspect ratio. Disney's streaming service is the only way fans of the show can watch The Simpsons, following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
