Apple TV app comes to Amazon Fire TV devices

Similar to the rollout happening on Roku devices and ahead of the launch of Apple's streaming service, Amazon announced that the Apple TV app is coming to the second-generation Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K. Those with the Fire TV Basic edition also get the app today. According to Amazon's blog post, those who own a Fire TV Cube (either first- or second-generation), Fire TV (third-generation pendant design), and Toshiba and Insignia Fire TV Edition smart TVs will be getting the update soon. 

The Apple TV app will let you watch the content you've rented from Apple in the past, but, more importantly, it will give you access to Apple TV+ streaming service, which will launch in Canada on November 1st. The service costs $5.99 a month.

You can now purchase the Ring Stick Up Cam in Canada

Amazon-owned Ring is now bringing its Stick Up Cam to Canada. These surveillance cameras work as both indoor and outdoor cameras and have features like motion detection and two-way talk. Amazon offers different ways to power these cameras as well. There are the plug-in camera and battery-powered options that are both priced at $129.99, while the solar-powered one retails for $198.99.

You can connect the Stick Up Cam with other Ring devices through the Linked Devices feature and control everything with a single app.

Google launches Pixel 4-exclusive (for now) Pixel Live Wallpaper app

Just in time for the launch of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Google debuted a new Pixel Live Wallpaper app that's currently only available for those two handsets. These "live" wallpapers respond with parallax and motion effects when you touch or orient the phone differently. And this app is meant to control these, or perhaps be used as a way for Google to deliver updates to existing wallpapers, or even introduce new ones without having to wait for the monthly Android update. Support for older Pixels could come (and we sort of expect it to), but for now, only the Pixel 4 and 4 XL have access to the app.
