Google Play Store gets one-tap option to leave beta programs and more

The Google Play Store is simplifying how you can opt-out of beta programs, pre-registrations for apps and games, as well as clear out your Wishlist. There is a new "Google Play preferences" section in the Play Store's settings that will allow you to do what we mentioned above with just a tap of your finger. In this part, you'll discover one-tap options for clearing your Wishlist, leaving all beta programs, unregistering from upcoming events, and removing all app or game pre-registrations. However, the feature is not showing up to all users at this time.

Before this option showed up, you could manage features like these on a per-app basis. The Wishlist is accessible in the side menu, while the beta programs are in the My Apps > Beta section. But now you can sort of Thanos snap these out of your life. Aside from making things simpler, this move could also help with troubleshooting. Beta apps can include more software bugs, so this might be a clean and easier way to get those out of your phone.

Netflix renews 'Stranger Things' for Season 4, signs multi-year deal with its creators

Being the streaming service's most popular original series, it comes as no surprise that Stranger Things is getting a new season. But it looks like they won't take place in Hawkins anymore. The announcement video above and tweets from official Netflix and Stranger Things accounts all say the same thing: "We're not in Hawkins Anymore." Hawkins, Indiana has been the setting for the first three seasons of the show. Beyond this reveal though, we don't have information on the specific release date nor do we know if this will be the final season for the show itself.

However, it won't be the last time we'll see the Duffer brothers work with Netflix as Matt and Ross Duffer signed a multi-year film and TV content deal with the streaming service. We don't know the specific terms, but rumour has it that it's a nine-figure contract. We also don't know if this means more Stranger Things-related material or entirely new stories.

Early access of 'Minecraft Earth' will launch in October

Mojang and Microsoft will soon take the augmented reality game Minecraft Earth out of the beta test and into early access. The companies announced it'd be available in some countries starting next month. But they didn't specify which countries or platforms will have the game. What we know is it'll be available for both Android and iOS.

As Engadget notes, Minecraft Earth is a departure from the core Minecraft experience. World-building is still at its core. You can create worlds in AR, but it also encourages you to step out into the real world. It lets you embark on shareable Adventures where you take on monsters and other challenges to earn rare resources. We'll let you know once we hear more details about the game.
