There are issues with the Samsung Galaxy Fold review units

Early Samsung Galaxy Fold adopters might need to take this into consideration. Some journalists who have review units of the phone now are reporting some issues with the Galaxy Fold. The Verge’s Dieter Bohn discovered a bulge in the crease of the display just after a normal day’s use. CNBC’s Steve Kovach found that the display on his review unit began flickering just after a day’s use as well. As for Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) they accidentally removed a “protective layer/film” that actually shouldn’t be removed. This wrap over the phone is essential for it functioning.

According to Engadget, Samsung hasn’t commented yet on the issues. But at under US$2,000, it makes sense that people are scrutinizing every detail of this premium device. Curious people have already pre-order the phone and Samsung claims it has sold out its initial run. How many units that means, we can’t say. But with people expressing interest in this device, the company definitely needs to make sure these issues are addressed as soon as possible.
